(NYSE: FGP) announced today the acquisition of Alabama Butane Company, Inc. of
Birmingham, Alabama.

The acquisition brings Ferrellgas approximately 2,600 customers and adds
more than 2 million gallons to the company's annual retail sales volume. This
represents Ferrellgas' 55th acquisition since the company went public in 1994.
