MONTREAL, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Accedian Networks, Inc. today announced
that iNOC, a Network Operations Center (NOC) services company that offers SLA
Management services, has deployed multiple Accedian Networks products at the
Radiological Society of North America's (RSNA) annual meeting currently taking
place in Chicago.
RSNA is the largest medical meeting in the world with more than 700
vendors, 4000 scientific exhibits and over 62,000 attendees.
iNOC designed, built and is currently managing the RSNA network (RSNAnet)
for the annual meeting. RSNAnet spans multiple exhibit halls across two
million square-feet and has about 120 network closets. The network allows
exhibitors to transfer high volumes of medical imagery in real-time, and to
demonstrate mission-critical telemedicine applications using Video and Voice
over IP.
iNOC deployed multiple Accedian EtherNID(TM) units to assure the Quality
of Service and the Performance of the Ethernet Connections delivered to Key
Mission-Critical Exhibits. "Accedian's EtherNID(TM) was a good choice for
supporting the challenging Quality of Service (QoS) networking requirements of
the RSNA Conference," said Prasad Ravi, CEO of iNOC. "Accedian's EtherNID(TM)
allows us to verify and assure bandwidth allocation and usage on critical
segments of the RSNAnet and to monitor and track it from our NOC throughout
the event."
The EtherNID(TM) units, installed in-line on Ethernet segments, monitor
individual traffic streams to verify and assure the prioritization of specific
Frame-types, VLANs, Protocols, and Applications delivered. It can also assist
Network Troubleshooting by allowing intelligent loopbacks on selected traffic,
all of this while featuring an unrivalled passthrough latency of 10
microseconds, a critical requirement for Video and Voice over IP.
Furthermore, the EtherNID(TM) incorporates a failover-bypass circuitry,
assuring fail-safe operation, and can be optionally line-powered via Power-
over-Ethernet (PoE), allowing it to be installed virtually everywhere
including in un-powered wiring closets.
