the launch of BellSouth(R) Toll-Free at Home Service. This service provides
BellSouth(R) Long Distance residential subscribers with a toll-free number
and PIN that they can provide friends and family with for toll-free
calling. Users can simply dial the toll-free number provided, enter the PIN
and instantly be connected to the subscriber's home phone.
"BellSouth Toll-Free at Home Service keeps our customers connected, no
matter where they are in the U.S. and Canada," said Paulino R. Barros, Jr.,
chief product officer - BellSouth Retail Markets. "Now family members who
frequently travel, extended family members across the country, family and
friends traveling on business, or those away at college have no excuse not
to call home!"
This service is available only to BellSouth Long Distance residential
subscribers. There is no monthly charge to have BellSouth Toll-Free at Home
Service, and customers are billed just 10 cents per minute for any
completed incoming calls. Some restrictions and other charges, including
pay phone charges, apply.
To activate the Toll-Free at Home Service, existing residential
customers should call the special access number that appears, beginning in
December, at the bottom of their BellSouth Long Distance bills. An
easy-to-use automated prompt walks customers through the steps to activate
the Toll-Free feature. Customers are given a Toll-Free number and PIN
(personal identification number) that can be distributed to callers of
their choice.
