SP7662 Offers Highest Power Density for a Wide Input Voltage Range

(OTC: SIPX.PK) announces the latest additions to its PowerBlox(TM) family
of high power synchronous buck switching regulators. The SP7661, SP7662 and
SP7663, packaged in a thermally enhanced 7mm x 4mm DFN, feature operation
from a single supply to an input voltage range of 4.5V to 22V. The SP7662
is the highest power density regulator in its class, capable of delivering
up to 12 Amps at conversion efficiencies greater than 93% (SP7662) in less
than 7 square cm of board space
The 3 Amp, SP7661 and 6 Amp, SP7663 options provide designers with a
common architecture to meet varying load requirements. The new
PowerBlox(TM) regulators have an internal VCC regulator which makes them
ideal for use in single supply system applications with loosely regulated
inputs, such as the rectified AC transformers commonly used in industrial
systems and the IBC (Intermediate Bus Converters) used in telecom systems.
The 1% 0.8V feedback and other features enabling various sequencing
configurations make these regulators excellent choices for powering a wide
variety of digital processors. Fault protection includes output
under-voltage protection (UVP) and output over-current protection (OCP)
with hiccup mode to avoid overheating.
