The 20th Annual Survey reflects more than 28,000 responses from
travelers who patronize the preeminent lodgings in the world, and is one of
the hospitality industry's most widely respected and widely cited awards.
The 450-room Harrah's Hotel opened in September of 2006 and has already
received a 2008 AAA Four Diamond Award. It is one of only three casino
hotels in the nation to be named to the Mainland U.S. Top 100.
"Our inclusion in Conde Nast's Top 100 is a testament to the
outstanding service and amenities that our New Orleans team provides," said
John Payne, Harrah's central division president. "It is even more
extraordinary that our team achieved this honor only one year after
opening, in a city that is still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane
Katrina."
The Harrah's Hotel in downtown New Orleans is adjacent to Harrah's
Casino and just steps from the French Quarter. The newly built, 26-story
property shares fine dining, including a steakhouse headed by "Next Iron
Chef" runner-up John Besh, and other amenities with Harrah's Casino -- one
of the busiest tourist destinations in New Orleans. New Orleans officials
have cited the reopening of the casino and the new hotel as major
milestones in the ongoing efforts to restore New Orleans tourism to
pre-Katrina levels.
"Harrah's truly reflects the best of the enduring spirit of New
Orleans," adds Jim Hoskins, Harrah's New Orleans' senior vice president and
general manager. "In a city known for the finest dining, the hottest music,
and the coolest atmosphere, Harrah's Casino and Hotel offer the very best
to our guests. This award is a tribute to magnificent guest service, and to
the extra effort that everyone in New Orleans is making to let the world
know that all of the charm and all of the pleasure of this great city are
as deep and strong as ever."
To celebrate the Conde Nast designation, Harrah's New Orleans is
offering a Lagniappe & Luxury package to its guests. (A term widely used in
New Orleans, lagniappe means 'a little extra'.) The package extends to
guests a 15 percent discount off their room rate, a $10 certificate for
beignets and coffee at the world famous Cafe du Monde, and 1000 Bonus
Reward Credits if the guest signs up for a free Harrah's Total Rewards
Card. Rewards Credits may be used at restaurants and other venues at
Harrah's New Orleans, as well as some of the finest restaurants in the
city.
The package expires Dec. 31, 2008. Certain restrictions may apply. To
