EATONTOWN, N.J., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Roberts Pharmaceutical Corporation
(Amex: RPC) announced today that Louis P. Berardi, formerly of Hoechst Marion
Roussel, has joined Roberts as Senior Vice President, New Business Development
and Strategic Planning, a newly created position reporting directly to John T.
Spitznagel, Roberts President and CEO.
Before joining Roberts, Mr. Berardi held senior positions in new business
development and strategic planning with SmithKline Beecham, PLC, Carter-
Wallace, Inc., and most recently with Hoechst Marion Roussel where he was a
member of the management team involved in analyzing and implementing Hoechst's
1995 purchase of Marion Merrell Dow. In these prior positions, Mr. Berardi's
responsibilities encompassed identifying, evaluating, and executing strategies
involving corporate alliances, co-promotions, joint ventures, emerging
technologies, pipeline acquisitions, and product licensing opportunities. Mr.
Berardi received his Bachelor of Arts and a MBA in Finance and Economics from
Fairleigh Dickinson University.
