$39 Million Worth of Projects on I-79 Nearing Completion

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- With colder weather on the way and
construction schedules winding to conclusion, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation District 11 announced traffic changes along two projects on
I-79 in Allegheny County.

    I-79 at Route 60, Crafton Exit 13
    -- Beginning Friday, November 7, at 9:00 a.m., the southbound Route 60
Exit from I-79 and the southbound Route 60 entrance to southbound I-79 will
close for about two weeks. These temporary ramps will be demolished and
replaced with new permanent entrance and exit ramps at the southbound Route 60
section of Exit 13 interchange. This $18 million concrete replacement is
scheduled for completion at Thanksgiving.

    I-79 Bridgeville to South Pointe
-- By beginning of today's afternoon rush period traffic will be moved
over one-lane in each direction on the northbound and southbound lanes,
eliminating a crossover. Next week work will be completed allowing
unrestricted two-lane traffic north and southbound through this area. This
$21 million project will conclude the pavement portion when the lanes reopen
to traffic. Next year a bridge rehabilitation in Hendersonville will
continue.
Schedules are subject to weather conditions.
