Abadie Named President and Chief Executive Officer of Banc One Credit Company
    COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Donald A. Winkler, Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of Finance One Corporation, announced today that
John P. Abadie has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Banc
One Credit Company, a unit of Finance One Corporation.  Finance One is the
consumer and commercial finance subsidiary of BANC ONE CORPORATION (NYSE: ONE)
which is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
    Abadie is a 27-year veteran of the automobile finance business.  He
assumes management of an organization that has assets of $17 billion in dealer
retail loans and leases, and commercial loans, most of which is auto-related.
He was previously with NationsBank as President of the Dealer Financial
Services Group. Prior to that, he was with Citicorp Acceptance as a Regional
Vice President, and earlier he spent 15 years with Chrysler Credit
Corporation.  Abadie said, "I'm really delighted to be joining a company with
the reputation of Banc One Credit Company.  We can build on these strengths
and continue to expand this already vibrant enterprise."  A graduate of
Louisiana State University, Abadie will be relocating to Phoenix, Arizona,
where Banc One Credit Company is headquartered.
