-- Leading agricultural equipment manufacturer uses PTC(R) Pro/ENGINEER,
Windchill PDMLink, Windchill ProjectLink and Windchill PartsLink to enhance
competitiveness --
NEEDHAM, Mass., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC) today
announced that AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AG), a worldwide designer, manufacturer
and distributor of agricultural equipment, has successfully standardized on
PTC's product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, including Pro/ENGINEER(R)
Windchill PDMLink(TM), Windchill ProjectLink(TM) and Windchill
PartsLink(TM).The company is now implementing PTC's product development system
throughout its facilities as the result of a $6.5 million, three year contract
with PTC.
AGCO, which promotes business in more than 140 countries through more than
8,000 dealers, is using PTC's integral PLM environment globally to create high
fidelity digital product models, collaborate globally in the development of
products and manage and control the product development process throughout the
products' lifecycle. This approach enhances the company's competitiveness,
increases efficiency and reduces overall product development costs.
After successfully completing 20 acquisitions, AGCO has grown its business
to nearly $3 billion in sales and offers major product brands including
Fendt(R), Massey Ferguson(R), Hesston(R) and Challenger(R). AGCO is tasked
with communicating and collaborating with thousands of internal employees,
partners, distributors and independent dealers.
Based on its previous experience with PTC's Pro/ENGINEER, AGCO decided to
standardize on PTC PLM solutions in order to optimize the collaborative
product development efforts among these new areas of the company. The company
is also planning to move to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, the latest version of PTC's
industry-leading product design and development software.
"PTC offers the industry's only completely integral Product Development
System for PLM. This was a critical factor in our decision-making process,"
said Garry Ball, AGCO Senior Vice President of Engineering. "As we look to
maintain quality, increase efficiencies throughout our entire product
development environment and ultimately cut our costs, we're confident that PTC
is the right partner to help us achieve these goals."
AGCO won a PTC Design Award at the recent PTC/USER annual conference in
the Heavy Equipment category for its Challenger 660 combine farm vehicle. The
product was created using Pro/ENGINEER, MECHANICA(R) and Pro/SHEETMETAL(TM).
"With a strong heritage of delivering superior, reliable farm equipment,
AGCO has built a reputation for technical achievements," said Paul Cunningham,
SVP of Sales for PTC. "We're proud to work with AGCO as it continues to build
on its leadership position through a strong focus on its products."
