EVANSVILLE, Ind., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Shoe Carnival, Inc.
(Nasdaq: SCVL), a leading retailer of value-priced footwear and accessories,
today reported sales for the four-week period ended November 27, 1999
increased 28.6 percent to $27.9 million from sales of $21.7 million for the
four-week period ended November 28, 1998. Comparable store sales increased
5.5 percent in November 1999.
Sales for the first ten months of 1999 increased 22.2 percent to
$283.5 million from sales of $232 million for the first ten months of 1998.
Comparable store sales increased by 2.3 percent for the 43-week period.
The Company also announced the opening of three stores in November, one
each in Chesterfield, MO (St. Louis market); Gurnee, IL (Chicago market); and
Newnan, GA (Atlanta market).
