MIAMI, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Burger King Corporation today announced the
appointment of Robert (Bob) Gumm to the position of Senior Vice President,
North America Development, effective immediately. Gumm will report directly to
John Chidsey, president, Burger King Americas.

Gumm will be the principle point of contact with Burger King Corporation's
North America franchise community on all matters related to the development of
new and existing franchise restaurants. In addition to being responsible for
the identification and selection of new franchisees, Gumm will also oversee
Burger King Corporation's Asset Management group.
Prior to Burger King Corporation, Gumm was a Regional Director of
Development for Wendy's International. In this capacity, Gumm was directly
responsible for the planning and construction of new restaurants, as well for
providing support to the franchise community. Under his direction, Wendy's
exceeded its new restaurant opening plan for eleven consecutive years.
Prior to Wendy's International, Gumm was Director, Real Estate Asset
Management for Terex Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer of a broad
range of equipment for use in various industries. In this capacity, Gumm was
responsible for all real estate development and asset management activities of
the company's properties.
Gumm returns to Burger King Corporation, where he spent 10 years in
various executive positions with increasing responsibility. Between 1978 and
1988, Gumm was responsible for providing brand leadership and driving sales
and profits in a variety of regions throughout the Company.
Gumm holds a L.L.B. degree from John Marshall University and attended
DeKalb College and the University of Georgia.
