GREENVILLE, Texas, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has
been selected by prime contractor Embraer to integrate and provide systems for
maritime surveillance aircraft (MSA) for Mexico.
As a subcontractor to Embraer, Raytheon will provide and integrate mission
systems on two EMB 145 MP aircraft, a maritime patrol version of the ERJ 145
regional jet. Raytheon will also provide and integrate a communications
intelligence (COMINT) system in one EMB 145 AEW&C aircraft, an airborne early
warning and control version of the same jet.
Raytheon-developed equipment being provided includes the high-performance
SeaVue surveillance radar, the APX-114 IFF Interrogator, and a COMINT system.
The aircraft system integration will be done by Raytheon's Aircraft
Integration Systems, which will also provide the COMINT system and all mission
software. The company's Electronic System's Surveillance and Reconnaissance
business unit will provide the radar and is responsible for the maritime
surveillance mission system. The company's Command, Control, Communication and
Information Systems business unit will provide some mission electronics and
in-country services.

Work is expected to begin on the program immediately, with initial
equipment deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2002. Raytheon will conduct
system integration at its Greenville facilities in 2003.
