PITTSBURGH, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Equitable Resources, Inc.
(NYSE: EQT) has appointed Diane L. Prier president of Equitable Supply and
officer of Equitable Resources, effective December 1, 2004. Equitable Supply
is the largest natural gas supplier in the Appalachian basin, with reserves in
excess of 2.1 trillion cubic feet, including undeveloped reserves of
0.5 trillion cubic feet.
Equitable Supply includes over 12,000 gross production wells and 10,000
miles of gathering systems. The segment engages in producing, gathering and
selling natural gas in the Appalachian basin, in addition to processing and
selling natural gas liquids.
Murry Gerber, CEO of Equitable Resources, Inc. said, "Ms. Prier's past
performances include management of a $1.1 billion business unit in which she

transportation, as well as oil and gas exploration and production. She also
served as vice president, Rockies Midstream Operations; director, Energy Group
and manager of Field Services for The Williams Companies.
In addition to her corporate role, Ms. Prier is very active in community
organizations serving as a board member of the Anchorage, Alaska Economic
Development Corporation and co-chairing the 2002 Anchorage, Alaska United Way
Campaign. Ms. Prier holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical petroleum
refining engineering and an MBA.
