Raytheon Selected to Provide Engineering Services to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center

    RESTON, Va., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been
selected to provide specialized engineering and project planning support to
NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Ala.
    As one of several recipients of this multiple-award, indefinite-delivery,
indefinite-quantity blanket purchase agreement (BPA) worth up to an aggregate
of $20 million, Raytheon Technical Services Company will provide system
design, engineering and integration to support Marshall Space Flight Center's
engineering directorate and systems management office.
    The tasks include systems engineering; risk management and safety
analysis; systems and subsystems trade studies; detailed plans and
specifications development; requirements development and verification; systems
integration; electrical and mechanical design integration; fabrication and
assembly; simulation; technical performance measurement; configuration
management; verification and validation; technical review coordination and
independent assessment.
    Additional tasks may include turbo machinery design and analysis;
structural design and analysis; combustion device design and analysis; engine
system design and analysis; hypersonic propulsion system design and analysis;
dynamics analysis and prototype development.
    The performance period is Oct. 31, 2001 to Oct. 31, 2005.
