PITTSBURGH, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Company has
announced the appointment of Sylvestre Vire as regional director, Belgium,
effective January 1, 2007. Mr. Vire reports to Per Brunzell, vice president
for Customer Relations & Sales Europe and Nordic Regional director.
Sylvestre joins Westinghouse from his most recent position of deputy
chief executive for Bureau Veritas in Hamburg, Germany. Earlier in his
career he held positions in technology development, production operations
and marketing for AluSuisse group in Switzerland and served as managing
director of Institut de Soudure, the French Welding Institute. He is a
graduate of Ecole Superieure d'Electrochimie et d'Electrometallurgie de
Grenoble; the London School of Economics and Imperial College, Royal School
of Mines, London. Currently living in Essen, Germany, he will be relocating
to Belgium.
Mr. Vire replaces Jim Noyes, who will assume full-time responsibility
as director, European Field Services. Mr. Noyes previously held both the
regional director and European director positions. In the European director
role, Jim will be accountable for Field Services growth and the oversight
of operations and product managers located throughout Europe. He reports to
Jim Ferland, vice president for Field Services, and will remain located in
Nivelles, Belgium.
