GSE Systems Announces Release of SimSuite Pro Version 3.2 for Process Plant Simulation

COLUMBIA, Md., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- GSE Systems, Inc. (GSE) (Amex: GVP),
a leading global provider of real-time simulation and process control
solutions for the energy and process industries, announced today the release
of a more powerful version of its popular simulation package for process
industry applications.
The new release of SimSuite Pro version 3.2 will run under Microsoft
Windows NT and 2000 Operating Systems and interfaces to GSE's D/3 DCS versions
8.1 through the newest version 10.2. As an added benefit, D/3 DCS users can
also use the TotalVision operator graphics as the SimSuite Pro Instructor
Station, making the Training Simulator and the Plant Control Station much more
compatible.
Jerry Jen, President and COO, said; "We continue to invest in our SimSuite
Pro product, both by improving the technology and with additional marketing
resources. According to the Automation Research Corporation (ARC), they
expect the Real-Time Plant Optimization market to grow from $540 million in
2000 to $1.1 billion in 2005. Real-Time simulation and Control System
Validation is one of the three major components of that market space."
SimSuite Pro version 3.2 provides numerous new simulation features, and
includes GSE's new eXtreme I/S version 1.0 Instructor Station. This advanced
Instructor Station can run directly on top of Microsoft Office products, i.e.,
Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, and on many other software products that
can support the ActiveX components. Users can run the eXtreme I/S on a
notebook PC to exercise the simulation scenarios via Ethernet or Internet
connections. Most training lessons can be prepared in electronic files and
stored in a file server accessed by operators for self-study, thereby
providing more consistent and efficient training. GSE expects that the
eXtreme I/S will not only increase operator training effectiveness but will
also reduce training and maintenance costs for customers.
