                               Management Costs

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Intransa, the global leader in
enterprise IP SAN storage systems, announced today that the company continues
to see strong traction in the higher-education market with the announcement of
Soka University. Intransa has been selected by Soka to deploy an IP storage
area network (SAN) to triple storage capacity and simplify data management
under a single solution. Soka chose Intransa's IP SAN system over competitive
solutions because of its patented, modular approach that independently scales
performance and capacity based on business requirements. The IP5500 storage
system, powered by Intransa's patented StorControl(TM) software, will
consolidate Soka's direct attached storage (DAS) environment to seamlessly
scale and manage over 12 terabytes of information.
"After testing several IP SAN solutions, we chose Intransa because of its
modular architecture, superior performance and bottom line cost savings," said
Saeed Fakhriravari, director of information technology, Soka University.
"Intransa's storage system allows us to leverage our existing Ethernet
infrastructure and gives us the flexibility to scale both capacity and
performance as we need it."
In addition to Soka, leading universities including University of Miami,
Virginia Tech, and Oakland University have also standardized on the Intransa
IP SAN product family, which represents a new generation of networked storage
systems. Intransa's storage products are ideally suited for the
higher-education market providing the following bottom-line benefits:

-- Ability to leverage existing Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) infrastructure and
10 GigE backbone for data-intensive research without having to introduce an
expensive, proprietary Fibre Channel solution into the equation.
-- Consolidate storage and server resources and centralize management from
a single enterprise data center -- reducing administrative costs by 75 percent
over any other storage system on the market.
-- Industry's only modular architecture that provides complete flexibility
to add performance and/or capacity on the fly as needed.
-- Provides high-end system availability to keep pace with 24x7
information requirements of research facilities, faculty and students.
-- Supports a wide range of applications across the extended campus and
runs seamlessly -- eliminating the need to modify the storage network or
computing environment.

Soka will leverage the Intransa IP5500 storage system to consolidate its
Microsoft Exchange server farm and significantly increase file utilization and
throughput. Intransa's storage systems are ideally suited for demanding
Microsoft applications such as Exchange or SQL Server for block storage -- as
part of an elegant, cost-effective IP-based solution. Intransa's IP SAN
simplifies off-site backup and is ideally suited for multi-terabyte storage
consolidation in highly distributed environments. Soka will benefit from
guaranteed performance and availability while reducing their storage costs by
offloading storage management tasks and paying only for the capacity they
need.
"Customers are demanding highly scalable IP SAN solutions to manage
escalating storage requirements," said Tim Zimmerman, vice president
enterprise storage, Synegi. "We focus on delivering storage solutions that
provide significant value for our customers. Intransa's IP storage systems
provide reliability, performance and scalability, which make them a compelling
choice for users that want storage-on-demand solutions to reduce cost of
ownership and accelerate the return on their IT investment."
"We're delighted with the rapid customer adoption and momentum Intransa
has established with leading channel partners such as Synegi," said John
Noellert, vice president of North America Sales, Intransa. "Our
second-generation IP storage systems are more cost-effective and easier to
manage than any Fibre Channel, or IP SAN solution available making this a
great fit for our University customers. Companies of every size require
dependable storage that is safe, simple to scale, and takes advantage of the
existing Ethernet infrastructure already in place. Intransa does just that. We
provide storage for your network, not another network for your storage."
