Bartlett Beck Employs FTI TrialMax(TM) Software in Florida Court
ANNAPOLIS, Md., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The new TrialMax(TM) Software from
FTI Consulting, Inc. (Amex: FCN), the premier national provider of litigation
and trial technology consulting services, was featured prominently during the
proceedings contesting the presidential election in Florida. The law firm of
Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott (Chicago) relied on FTI software and
graphics services in presenting their winning case.
TrialMax was designed to accelerate lawyers' preparation for trial by
automating the warroom, where staffs of lawyers and paralegals have
traditionally prepared the documents, depositions and graphic exhibits to be
shown in court each day. FTI's software allows the company's trial technology
consultants to pull different types of information media onto a laptop
computer and arrange it into a trial presentation, real time.
Throughout the weekend-long, televised trial in Tallahassee, Fla.,
partners Phil Beck and Fred Bartlit worked from their laptops, cross-examining
witnesses while displaying documents, zooming in and adding highlights as they
asked questions. To support their witnesses' testimony, Beck and Bartlit
showed graphics presentations, photos and other media. FTI's team of
consultants, who accompanied the lawyers to Tallahassee, worked to organize
and display the information, freeing the attorneys to concentrate on the
substance of their case.
According to Dan Winter, FTI senior vice president, the Bartlit Beck firm
and FTI have collaborated in trial technology development, with the law firm
providing a demanding beta site for new FTI software and services. "When we
talked after the trial, Fred said our new software worked beautifully," Winter
said. "But Fred did have a few ideas he'd like to add-and that's how we keep
making it better."
