ZEELAND, Michigan, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation,
the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide
automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming
mirrors for the 2007 Volkswagen (VW) Eos.
The new VW coupe convertible, the Eos, offers a Gentex interior auto-
dimming mirror and driver's-side exterior mirror as standard equipment on
the Sport 3.2 model, and as part of an optional luxury pack on the Eos and
Eos Sport. The vehicle will be sold throughout Europe and the United
States.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from
the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the
glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
"This is Gentex's sixth exterior auto-dimming mirror program with VW,"
said Enoch Jen, Gentex senior vice president and chief financial officer.
"VW recognizes the importance of these safety features and is making them
available on more and more of its vehicles."
