Leverages Year 2000 Techniques for Legacy Applications Enhancement
BELLEVUE, Wash., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Dimensions, Inc.
(Nasdaq: DDIM) today announced the completion of prototype engagements
involving the use of automated legacy systems analysis techniques for the
thorough documentation of client application portfolios. Derived from its
successful work on complex information technology (IT) projects, Data
Dimensions' Software Asset Management (SAM) service provides clients with a
comprehensive inventory of applications, interfaces, and data relationships,
which exist within their production systems environment. This information is
instrumental in the development of enterprise integration solutions, such as
legacy-to-Web and legacy-to-ERP solutions.
"Our clients are frustrated by the frequent lack of adequate information
regarding their current operational environment sufficient to achieve their
e-commerce or enterprise integration business strategies," said Paul Sabatino,
vice president of Application Outsourcing at Data Dimensions. "Using Data
Dimensions' SAM tools and techniques, we have recently concluded portfolio
assessments that have provided clients with the information required to make
strategic business decisions affecting their IT assets. The assessment enables
our clients to make informed decisions concerning issues such as, outsourcing
all or part of the application maintenance responsibility, developing
enterprise integration strategies, reducing costs related to software licenses
and "dead code" and acting to reduce the complexity of interfaces and
processing flows within their operational systems environments."
"The Software Asset Management service is yet another example of a
knowledge-based solution available from Data Dimensions in the post-Y2K era,"
said Peter Allen, Data Dimensions' president and CEO. "Utilizing SAM and
similar techniques, we are helping clients derive the maximum benefit from the
IT assets which are critical to the daily operation of their businesses.
Through our field consultants and Solution Centers, Data Dimensions is able to
provide, on-site or remotely, a distinct level of expertise applied to an
enterprise's legacy extension strategies."
