ZEELAND, Mich., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation, the
leading supplier of automatic-dimming mirrors to the worldwide automotive
industry, has begun shipping interior automatic-dimming mirrors for several of
SEAT's (Sociedad Espanola de Automoviles de Turismo) 2005 models. SEAT, a
member of Volkswagen Group's Sport Division, produces vehicles in Spain.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the
headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the
darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
An interior automatic-dimming mirror is an optional feature on SEAT's 2005
Ibiza, Leon, Cordoba and Toledo vehicles, as well as the Altea MPV, SEAT's new
entry into the minivan segment. The vehicles are sold throughout Central and
Western Europe.
"Gentex products have been featured on SEAT vehicles in the past, but now
we're the primary auto-dimming mirror supplier for all SEAT platforms," stated
Garth Deur, Gentex executive vice president. "We look forward to our expanded
relationship with SEAT and its parent company, Volkswagen."
