ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 9, 2005 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company has
appointed retired U.S. Navy Admiral Walter F. Doran to the position of Navy
Service Executive. He will report to Thomas M. Culligan, executive vice
president, Corporate Business Development and chief executive officer,
Raytheon International, Inc.

In his new position, Doran will help Raytheon identify and provide
appropriate resources to pursue Navy strategic growth opportunities. He will
also serve as the company's internal U.S. Navy subject matter expert,
explaining the Navy's transformational goals, and will form a direct link to
Raytheon's businesses to help the company shape integrated mission solutions
to address customer needs.
Prior to joining Raytheon, Doran commanded the U.S. Pacific Fleet, the
world's largest combined fleet command, with more than 180 ships, 1,400
aircraft and 150,000 sailors, Marines and civilians. He also served as
Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; commanded the U.S.
Seventh Fleet, based in Japan; and was Deputy Commander of U.S. Southern
Command.
Doran has Masters' degrees from Oklahoma University and Madras University
in India, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Villanova University.
