LONDON, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinity, a SunGard company, today
announced that it has signed licensing agreements with some of the world's
most prestigious financial organizations. Infinity is the leading provider of
enterprise solutions for financial trading, risk management and operations.
Infinity won several competitive deals throughout Europe, the Americas and
the Asia-Pacific region. Major contracts include Banca Commerciale Italiana,
Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, BRED, Cofiri, General
Electric FGIC, Julius Baer Group, Lloyds Bank, Sanwa Securities and Standard
Chartered Bank, among others.
"In today's global environment, geographic boundaries are disappearing and
asset class barriers are blurring. Financial enterprises are focused on
integrating their front-office, middle-office, back-office and risk management
functions," said Ron Lang, senior vice president of marketing, Infinity.
"Infinity solutions enable customers to integrate the financial enterprise
through a market-proven product portfolio, a powerful professional services
organization and a worldwide network of support offices."
Rome-based Cofiri purchased Infinity's solutions in order to replace their
own in-house systems following a re-evaluation of the treasury's I.T.
requirements. Cofiri selected Infinity's Panorama after an extensive
evaluation of competing products for its ability to take a consolidated view
of the institution's overall position to measure and monitor risk exposure.
Cofiri will install all modules of Panorama to monitor real time trading and
counterparty limits, VaR, source of change, scenario/stress testing and credit
risk in its offices in Rome. Panorama will process interest rate products,
derivatives, securities and interface with a third party bond trading system.
Cofiri will use The Devon System to process swaps, FRAs, futures, interest
rate options, FX options and bonds and for all its pricing and reporting
operations, providing it with the necessary functionality to cover a range of
financial instruments.
Sanwa Securities selected Infinity 7 to support their newly established
derivatives operation in Tokyo earlier this year, and is the first Japanese
securities company to go live with Infinity 7. Sanwa uses Infinity Derivatives
to price, trade and hedge its interest rate derivative positions, along with
Infinity Limit Manager, which provides pre-deal limit checking and real-time
position limit monitoring capability. The two integrated applications enable
traders to check credit and other exposures from the deal entry screen.
Mr. Takashi Fujiwara, general manager of the risk management office at
Sanwa, says, "Bringing Infinity Derivatives and Limit Manager into production
gives us the ability to price, trade and risk manage a wide range of
derivatives products. The whole suite of Infinity 7 applications provides rich
functionality and we were ready to go in production within a short period of
time."
Julius Baer Group, one of the market leaders in the Swiss private banking
sector, chose Infinity as their enterprise-wide risk management solution for
FX, MM, Equities and Interest Rate Products. Panorama will act as a risk
engine for consolidation purposes of all market risk and to monitor the bank's
risk management limits. "The choice of Infinity was made because of Panorama's
modern and flexible technology," said Bernhard Hodler, head of global risk
management, "plus the expectation to choose a professional and experienced
partner".
