CAMARILLO, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Siemens Solar's panels are now
powering the roadway lighting to the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA)
Headquarters Campus in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, the company
announced today. The complete solar-powered lighting systems were
manufactured by the Solar Electric Power Company(TM) (SEPCO(TM)).
"We chose Siemens Solar panels because they've proven themselves in the
field -- in some of the harshest climates on the planet -- for decades,"
stated Steven R. Robbins, President of SEPCO. Winding along for over a mile,
the beautiful, tree-lined roadway features one of the most cost-effective and
environmentally friendly technologies -- solar power. The entire roadway is
brightly illuminated using SEPCO's unique 200-watt Solar Electric Lighting
Systems. The lighting system powers the high quality commercial fixtures from
dusk to dawn.
Chris Long, the EPA's Project Manager commented, "We're extremely pleased
with the installation. We're committed to using cost-effective technologies
that reduce our air pollution impact, and this project speaks volumes about
our commitment to clean, renewable energy."
