Applied Imaging Corp. Names Michael Zoccoli Vice President of Product Development

    SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Imaging Corp.
(Nasdaq: AICX) today announced the appointment of Michael A. Zoccoli, Ph.D. to
the position of Vice President of Product Development for the Company.  As
Vice President of Product Development, Dr. Zoccoli will initially be
responsible for fetal cell maternal blood consumables development.  Dr.
Zoccoli will report to Michael Burgett, Ph.D., President, Genetic Diagnostics
Division and Executive Vice President of the Company.
    Michael Zoccoli has fifteen years of industry experience in biotechnology
and diagnostic product research, development, transfer to manufacturing and
product launch.  Prior to joining Applied Imaging, Dr. Zoccoli served as
Director of PCR Systems Research and Development for Roche Molecular Systems,
Inc.  From 1991 to 1997, he served in various capacities at Roche responsible
for development of PCR products for research and diagnostic use.

    Dr. Zoccoli received his Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry from Dartmouth
College, and currently resides in Moraga, California.
