LEXINGTON, Mass., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has appointed Edward S. Pliner, 44, as senior
vice president and chief financial officer. Pliner was previously vice
president and corporate controller for Raytheon; he was appointed to that
position in April 2000.
Pliner replaces Frank Caine, who has resigned from the company. Caine
joined Raytheon in April of 1999 as senior vice president and chief financial
officer.
"Frank has made many contributions to Raytheon, and I would like to thank
him for his hard work and willingness to take on a number of our most
difficult financial management challenges," said Daniel P. Burnham, chairman
and chief executive officer of Raytheon. "I am pleased to have someone of Ed
Pliner's skills and abilities and experience with Raytheon to succeed Frank
Caine," Burnham added.
Prior to joining Raytheon, Pliner was a partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers
LLP in the technology practice. He joined PWC in 1990 and was promoted to
partner in 1995. Previously, Pliner worked on several political campaigns in
financial and campaign leadership roles.
Pliner received a bachelor's degree in political science from Tufts
University in 1980 and a master's degree in business administration from
Harvard Business School in 1990. Pliner is a certified public accountant and
a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
