ZEELAND, Mich., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation,
the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide
automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming
mirrors for the all-new 2007 Dodge Nitro mid-size SUV.
A base interior Gentex mirror is standard on the Nitro SLT and R/T trim
levels. The mirror can be upgraded to include U-Connect(TM), Chrysler
Group's hands-free communication system.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from
the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the
glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
"Midsize SUVs and crossover vehicles are becoming increasingly popular,
and that's what makes this an important program for us," said Enoch Jen,
Gentex senior vice president and chief financial officer. "It's great to
see a demand for our mirrors on these types of vehicles."
