RENO, Nev., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc.
(Nasdaq: RENO; PCX: RNO) today announced that it would not "duck" its ongoing
responsibility of flying the Oregon Ducks charter when they play in Las Vegas
Bowl VI presented by Reno Air.
"Reno Air is pleased that the University of Oregon has selected us to
transport them to the Las Vegas Bowl," said Camille Blaney, Reno Air's Manager
of Charter Operations. "We have flown the Ducks to all of their away games
this season, and we certainly wish them luck in this nationally televised bowl
game."
Reno Air will operate six charters for the University of Oregon starting
Dec. 15, 1997, as two planes carry the team and coaching staff from Eugene to
Las Vegas. The band will travel two days later on Dec. 17, and two charters
are planned for University of Oregon boosters in Portland and Eugene.
Las Vegas Bowl VI presented by Reno Air will be the first bowl game of the
season, and this year the Oregon Ducks will take on the Air Force Academy. The
game will air nation-wide on Dec. 20, 1997 at 3 p.m. (PST) on ESPN 2.
Reno Air serves 24 cities with 208 peak daily scheduled departures. The
carrier's fleet of 30 MD-80 and MD-90 series jets has an average age to less
than seven years, one of the youngest all-jet fleets in the industry. Reno Air
offers everyday low fares, advance seat assignments, domestic and
international frequent flier programs, a spacious first class cabin, "EZtrip"
ticketless travel and full participation in all major computer reservation
systems.
