Former Member of House Select Committee on Intelligence to Provide
Key Insight for Company's Initiatives in Intelligence, Homeland
Security and Government Sectors
PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Guidance Software, the leader in
incident response and computer forensics, announced today that six-term Ohio
congressman, Bob McEwen has been named to the company's newly-formed advisory
committee. In this capacity Congressman McEwen will counsel the company as it
looks to expand its market segment share in the government marketplace.
Guidance Software already provides its industry-leading computer
forensics, incident response and eDiscovery solutions to a wide array of
government agencies, military organizations and defense contractors.
Congressman McEwen's experience serves to provide added insight into the
unique needs of this customer base. During his congressional tenure, McEwen
was elected by his peers to two of the most coveted positions in the U.S.
Congress, including the Select Committee on Intelligence and the House
Committee on Rules.
"Guidance Software is a company I'm proud to be associated with," said
Congressman McEwen. "They are active participants in our nation's ongoing
efforts to provide strong protection for its citizens. From identity theft to
international terrorism, Guidance Software is working hand-in-hand with key
governments and corporations to safeguard our most vital assets..."
Having played a pivotal role in the development of some of the most
important bills relating to fraud prevention, McEwen will lend his expertise
to Guidance Software as it helps corporate clients understand this
increasingly complex regulatory environment. Guidance Software's EnCase(R)
Enterprise was developed partly to help companies facing these stiffer
measures.
In addition to his background in intelligence and regulatory issues, Mr.
McEwen also was a Special Presidential Envoy for Presidents Reagan and George
H.W. Bush, as well as serving as United States Representative to the European
Parliament. He also managed the House floor debates on many critical national
security legislative initiatives.
"The addition of Congressman McEwen to Guidance Software's advisory
committee is a major milestone for our company's growth," said John Colbert,
CEO of Guidance Software. "All of our clients will benefit from the insight
and experience he can share, and we look forward to tapping into his vast
knowledge as we continue to evolve our products and services."
