Richard M. Beyer Appointed Chief Executive Officer;
                        Ralph Ungermann Named Chairman

    SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- FVC.COM (Nasdaq: FVCX), the
worldwide leader in broadband video networking, today announced that Mr.
Richard M. Beyer has been named President and Chief Executive Officer.  Mr.
Beyer brings over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, most
recently as President and Chief Operating Officer of VLSI Technology.  Ralph
Ungermann, who founded FVC.COM in 1993 and has served as the company's
President and CEO since that time, will become Chairman of the Board.

Booz, Allen & Hamilton.  He is a former Marine Corps officer, and holds
bachelors and masters degrees from Georgetown University and an MBA from
Columbia University.  Mr. Beyer will join the staff on January 7, 1999 and
will be elected to FVC.COM's Board of Directors.
