ZEELAND, Mich., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation,
the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide
automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming
mirrors for the 2007 Dodge Caliber.
Dodge's new hatchback compact car, the Caliber, offers a Gentex base
interior auto-dimming mirror as part of an optional driver's convenience
package or is available in the UConnect(TM) Hands-Free Communication option
on the SXT and R/T models. The vehicle is sold throughout North America and
Europe.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from
the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the
glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
"The introduction of our products on the Dodge Caliber signifies the
commitment DaimlerChrysler has to making safety features available to all
its customers by adding the auto-dimming mirror to the list of options
available on even its compact cars," said Gentex Senior Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer, Enoch Jen.
