following monthly activity for the period ended November 30, 2002:
-- Total trades per day averaged 99,900. This is a 16% increase from
October 2002, and is 10% lower than November 2001.
-- Total customer assets were $128 billion as of November 30, 2002, up 3%
from October 2002 and a 4% decrease from November 2001.
-- New accounts opened totaled 29,100. This is a 10% decrease from October
2002 and is 19% lower than November 2001.
-- Margin loans were $3 billion at November 30, 2002, an 11% increase from
a month earlier and a decrease of 19% from November 30, 2001.
-- In the early part of December 2002, the firm has experienced a 5%
decrease in trades per day activity from the previous month's average.
