Nebraska's Douglas County Selects Cognizant Technology Solutions For Year 2000 Compliance

    NEW YORK, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS),
one of the world's leading suppliers of software development, testing,
maintenance and Year 2000 compliance services for Fortune 500 companies, today
announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide Year 2000 compliance
solutions for Douglas County, Nebraska, which includes the city of Omaha.
    The project was awarded to CTS after Douglas County reviewed more than
5 competitive proposals.  The agreement calls for CTS to ensure Year 2000
compliance in more than four million lines of code in computers that support a
wide variety of Douglas County departments, including community development,
public safety and courts, public finance and administration, general
government, and human resources.  The project is scheduled for completion
March 1, 1999.

County board chairwoman Mary Ann Borgeson.  "Completing our Year 2000
compliance by early 1999 will help Douglas County avoid interruptions in
