National Commerce Financial to Release Earnings January 17

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Officials of National Commerce
Financial Corporation (NYSE: NCF) announced today that the Memphis-based
financial services company plans to release its fourth quarter and year-end
earnings Thursday, January 17.
    In addition, the company will hold a conference call at 2 p.m. EDT/ 1 p.m.
CDT on January 17, 2002.  Shareholders and interested parties may access the
