Gateway Quick Ship Adds Convenience for Last-Minute Holiday Shoppers; Gateway Stores Also to Carry Limited Inventory for the Holidays

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Christmas gift buying just got a lot
easier for last-minute shoppers. Again this year, Gateway, Inc. (NYSE: GTW)
is offering its Holiday Quick Ship program and also will stock some PCs in
stores. The Holiday Quick Ship program offers Gateway customers the ability
to order one of six pre-configured desktop or portable systems by Dec. 22,
with the assurance that their order will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Beginning Dec. 19, Gateway stores across the country will carry a limited
supply of pre-built PCs for customers to take home on the spot. Shoppers
interested in a standard PC without customization features can get an
award-winning Gateway PC with no waiting for delivery -- right up until 5 p.m.
on Christmas Eve or while supplies last.
"Last year our customers really appreciated having some additional ways to
buy a Gateway PC for holiday gift-giving," said Bart Brown, Gateway senior
vice president. "As a direct seller with retail stores nationwide, Gateway is
able to modify its distribution when we need to serve special customer needs
-- and people who call, click or come into a Gateway store will see we've got
some great gift ideas for them."
Through 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, Dec. 22, customers ordering Holiday
Quick Ship PCs will be guaranteed delivery in time for Christmas, or Gateway
will refund shipping and handling charges. Additional shipping and handling
charges of up to $100 per system may apply.
