NASHUA, N.H., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Have you considered a headset for
your office telephone but thought existing commercial products would be too
complicated to set up and use with your phone, too costly, or simply lacking
the contemporary styling you desire? That's why GN Netcom, the innovation
leader in hands-free telephony, created the first product designed
specifically for today's busy professional. The GN 4100 series features
compact, clutter-free amplifiers and phones that are easy to set up and use
with virtually any existing phone in any office environment, and are
complemented by a contemporary, multi-functional headset to deliver style,
simplicity and value to the busy professional.

"We have seen growing interest from busy professionals for the
productivity and comfort that a hands-free telephony system provides," says
Tobe Cohen, senior vice president, marketing, GN Netcom, Inc. "What makes the
GN 4100 series stand-out is that we have combined GN Netcom's innovation
leadership with an in-depth understanding of multi-tasking professionals to
develop a system from the ground up that provides the value, versatility and
smart design they told us they require."
The GN 4100 series consists of two products: the GN 4150 amplified headset
system and the GN 4170 single line analog telephone and headset. Both will be
available in North American retail outlets as of January 2003 and priced below
$100. European versions with CE approvals are expected to be available in the
first quarter of 2003.
The GN 4150 is designed to work with virtually any corded phone while the
GN 4170 is designed for users who want to upgrade or replace their existing
analog business phone with one that includes more features and a headset. The
GN 4170 single line analog phone has a very small footprint, a spare data port
for a fax or modem connection and does not require an extra power supply. The
GN 4150, developed to complement existing phone systems, can be removed
altogether from the desktop and mounted vertically on a computer or other
surface, and uses 2 AA batteries instead of the typical additional power
supply.
Both the GN 4150 and GN 4170 use the same multi-functional headset. It
offers an adjustable headband that easily converts from an over-the-head to
over-the-ear wearing style for individualized comfort. The headset features a
noise-filtering microphone that lessens unwanted background noise so users can
be clearly heard, and its 2.5 mm jack enables it to work with hands-free ready
cordless and cellular phones as well.
The GN 4150 and GN 4170 deliver the superior sound that is a hallmark of
GN Netcom's history of technological innovation. Recently, this has included
the first headsets with Bluetooth(TM) wireless technology, as well as the
first 2.4 GHz wireless headsets.
