TEWKSBURY, Mass., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Raytheon Company's
Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) will establish a new facility at the
MetroNorth Corporate Center in Woburn, Mass., that will serve as its Missile
Defense Center.
Raytheon has leased 438,000 square feet in two buildings at 225 and 235
Presidential Way and will begin occupying the facilities in March 2004.
Approximately 1,100 engineers and administrative personnel will move into the
facility over the next year from an existing Raytheon facility in Bedford,
Mass.

this move a necessity," said Dan Smith, president of Raytheon Integrated
Defense Systems. "Establishing this center in Woburn will provide a state-of-
the art, modern facility for our employees with improved access for our
customers. It also reinforces our commitment to Massachusetts to remain a
technology leader and good corporate citizen in the commonwealth."
The facility in Woburn provides an additional 100,000 square feet of
useable space, improved operating efficiencies, and an existing robust
information technology network. The current Raytheon facility in Bedford will
be closed and has been purchased by National Development Corporation for
further development. Raytheon will lease the Woburn facilities from National.
