today announced that Gilles Pajot has joined the company as Vice Chairman and
President, Europe Region. He reports to Victoria R. Fash, IMS Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer, who also serves as Executive Vice President of
Cognizant's recently formed Healthcare Information Services (HCIS) business
unit, of which IMS is the largest component.

positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, under his leadership,
Pharmacia & Upjohn's European operations grew to an annual turnover in excess
of US$ 2.4 billion. He contributed significantly to the company's growth
through a series of strategic actions and major operational roles, including
leading the development of Pharmacia's growth businesses, spearheading a
number of turnaround initiatives, and directing local, regional and global
merger programs. Mr. Pajot has served as Chairman and President of Pharmacia
France S.A., Chief Executive Officer of Pharmacia Biosystems AB in Sweden, and
Executive Vice President responsible for planning and implementation of the
Kabi Pharmacia - Farmitalia Carlo Erba merger.
A French national, Mr. Pajot holds a masters of science degree in
biochemistry from Rennes University and a masters of science degree in
chemistry from Nantes University.
