ExxonMobil and United Dairy Farmers, Inc., Sign Distributor Agreement

IRVING, Texas, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- ExxonMobil (NYSE: XOM) and United
Dairy Farmers, Inc., (UDF) announced today that they have signed an agreement
in which UDF will distribute Mobil fuels at 108 of its dairy/convenience store
locations in Central and Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The gasoline
islands and canopies at these stores will be converted to the Mobil brand and
image, beginning in the summer of 2000.
United Dairy Farmers stores are famous for made-to-order, hand-dipped
malts, shakes, freezes, sundaes and ice cream cones. The company currently
owns and operates more than 200 dairy/convenience stores which serve these ice
cream treats from their ice cream parlors. UDF currently markets gasoline and
diesel fuels at its dairy/convenience stores under the UDF name.
"UDF offers ExxonMobil a unique opportunity to expand the Mobil brand in
the greater Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton markets," said Jim Carter, U.S.
Regional Director, ExxonMobil Fuels Marketing Company. "We believe that UDF
has the foundation, infrastructure, capital resources and growth strategies to
position itself as the premier marketer in the state of Ohio and we are
looking forward to growing together over the next decade."
"Mobil is a leading major gasoline brand. The significant Mobil brand is
recognized for quality products and services and complements the quality store
image United Dairy Farmers has worked so hard to achieve," said David Lindner,
UDF's Vice President of Marketing and Retail Operations. "Our goal of
offering customers the best quality products now extends to our gasoline.
We're also excited because UDF will be the primary distributor in the markets
in which we operate, and this provides us the opportunity and incentive to
aggressively grow the Mobil brand in this region."
Founded by the Lindner family in 1940, United Dairy Farmers remains a
closely held family business managed by Robert Lindner, Sr. and his sons Brad,
President; Robert Jr., Treasurer, and David. In addition to operating
dairy/convenience stores, the company manufactures and distributes branded
milk, ice cream and dairy products under the United Dairy Farmers(TM),
Homemade Brand(TM) Premium Ice Cream, Krazy Kreams(TM) and Micro Shake(TM)
brand names. Sales of the company's Homemade Brand Premium Ice Cream have
expanded well beyond UDF stores into leading grocery chains in a seven state
region.
