POWAY, Calif., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway, Inc. (NYSE: GTW)
today announced that Joe Formichelli has joined the company as executive vice
president of operations. In his new role, Formichelli will be responsible for
maximizing Gateway's operational excellence and efficiency.

Formichelli is a technology industry veteran with more than 30 years of
experience focusing on manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering,
logistics, supply chain and product management. During his career, he has
served as IBM Corporation's vice president of worldwide systems operations,
general manager of the ThinkPad brand, and vice president/general manager of
the PC company's operations. Formichelli also was executive vice president of
Toshiba's Computer Systems Group, and president/chief operating officer of
Clearcube Corporation, an Austin, Texas start-up.
