DETROIT, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto
Show (NAIAS) is offering bus grants to secondary education school groups to
attend Automotive Education Day (AED), presented by State Farm
Insurance(R), on Wed., Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cobo Center.

School groups interested in attending the fourth annual Automotive
Education Day can apply now for bus grants at http://www.naias.com/aed2008.htm.
The $150 grants are available to the first 100 schools Michigan schools
that register and are being provided by the Detroit Auto Dealers
Association (DADA) Education Foundation and Eppert Foundation.
"We are excited to provide students with a unique one-day event that is
designed to introduce them to career opportunities within the automotive
industry," said Carl Galeana, NAIAS 2008 senior co-chairman. "By visiting
the NAIAS on Jan. 23, students will meet industry insiders, view amazing
exhibits, incredible production and concept vehicles and learn about the
scope of the global automotive industry."
Thousands of students from various school groups throughout Southeast
Michigan, surrounding states and Windsor, Ontario (Canada's border city)
are expected to participate. During the opening remarks, State Farm
Insurance will provide all students with backpacks, interactive games and
prizes for correct quiz questions.
"To see students having fun at our show while learning at the same time
is one of the highlights of the auto show for me," said Joe Serra, NAIAS
2008 co- chairman. "With the help of our professional staff and auto
companies, Automotive Education Day provides students with an informative
and memorable learning experience."
Automotive Education Day 2007 attracted more than 7,000 students from
more than 110 schools in Michigan, Iowa, Ohio and Canada. Confirmed
participants for 2008 include General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, BMW,
Secretary of State and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
Participating companies from 2007 included College for Creative Studies,
GM, BMW, Toyota, DaimlerChrysler and State Farm Insurance. Post-secondary
schools participating include Georgian College, Macomb Community College,
University of Windsor and Northwood University. The same caliber of
automotive participants is expected for 2008. NAIAS exhibitors interested

Tickets for Automotive Education Day are $10 (USD or CAN) per student,
with one chaperone per 10 students, and a minimum of 20 tickets. A lunch
coupon is included for the Cobo Arena Food Court. The price for bus parking
is $20. School groups should arrive promptly at 7:30 a.m. in Cobo Arena.
The program will begin at 9 a.m.

The annual black-tie Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 18.
Public Days will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 through Sunday, Jan. 27.
