CINCINNATI, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Cincinnati-based receivables
management company and Sallie Mae subsidiary General Revenue Corporation
today celebrated another banner year of charitable giving in the
communities where the company's employees live and work. GRC employees,
along with The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization sponsored by
Sallie Mae, donated nearly $70,000 to local charities in Cincinnati and
Horseheads, N.Y.
GRC employees, along with a match from The Sallie Mae Fund, contributed
$20,000 to local chapters of the United Way to support its effort to
improve the quality of life for the area's children and families. GRC
Cincinnati once again supported FamiliesFORWARD, a nonprofit agency
providing services to help more than 1,200 Cincinnati children attend
college, donating toys and gift cards this holiday season including a
$9,000 gift from The Sallie Mae Fund.
In addition, GRC employees in Cincinnati and Horseheads volunteered
their time and efforts to other causes throughout the year. Some of the
highlights included:
-- employee participation in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica campaign,
including a $2,500 donation from The Sallie Mae Fund,
-- various donations of school supplies to local students through the
Crayons for Computers program, including a $3,000 donation from The
Sallie Mae Fund,
-- held multiple food drives to help needy families during the holiday
season, and
-- sponsorship of the Junior Achievement "Bowl-a-Thon" including a $5,000
donation from GRC.
