SanDiegoInsider.com Launches with
Sports, Entertainment, Recreation and News Channels
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Three veteran journalists are helping
to shape the content of SanDiegoInsider.com (http://www.sandiegoinsider.com), a new
online community launched recently by Cox Interactive Media's new San Diego
studio.
SanDiegoInsider.com's new creative team includes sports and recreation
producer John Freeman, entertainment producer Nanette Wiser, and news producer
Bonnie Nicholls.
"These three local journalists know San Diego inside and out," said Mark
Forster, city site manager. "They are parlaying their journalistic skills and
insider knowledge into creating the most dynamic local content now available
online."
SanDiegoInsider.com is an interactive forum, delivered free on the
Internet. Launched on Oct. 20, this new online community is designed
specifically for locals.
"We rely on San Diegans to contribute to our content," said Forster.
"SanDiegoInsider.com solicits opinions and ideas on everything from bilingual
education to juice bars to secret surf spots."
Mount Helix resident Freeman produces the sports and recreation channels
at SanDiegoInsider.com, after 12 years as a reporter and columnist at the San
Diego Tribune and then the San Diego Union-Tribune. His most recent
assignment at the U-T was covering television and entertainment. He also
covered the U.S. Open and Wimbledon for the newspaper, as well as the NBA
finals. His columns were syndicated nationally by Copley News Service.
Wiser, a San Diego-based journalist and Internet specialist, is the
entertainment producer for SanDiegoInsider.com.
Before joining Cox Interactive Media, Wiser worked for Microsoft's
Interactive Media Division on the Sidewalk/Cityscape project and was editorial
director for Copley News Service from 1985-1994. She also worked as an editor
at San Diego Magazine from 1978-1982.
In her role as news producer for SanDiegoInsider.com, Nicholls is the
editorial gatekeeper of current events and news stories. She also produces
the highly charged Hot Topic segment for this new online magazine.
Prior to her arrival, Nicholls was executive editor of the Light
Newspapers in La Jolla. She resides in Point Loma.
