Statement From Astoria Federal Savings on Fire at Oakdale Branch Today

    LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Dec. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- This morning a
structural fire caused extensive damage to the Astoria Federal Savings Oakdale
branch located at 1336 Montauk Highway in Oakdale, NY.
    No employees or customers were injured. Local fire departments were able
to gain control of the fire within a relatively short time.

customers of the fire and directing them to our nearby East Islip branch with
extended hours, or any Astoria Federal branch or ATM to satisfy their banking

    Astoria Federal's East Islip branch is located just three miles west of
the Oakdale branch on Montauk Highway. The East Islip branch hours are being
extended tonight until 7 p.m., tomorrow (Christmas Eve) until 5 p.m. and
throughout next week until 7 p.m., (New Year's Eve until 5 p.m.) to
accommodate the Oakdale customers.
