has hired Beth Kravetz to serve as Co-Counsel to the Financial Institutions
Group. Ms. Kravetz is a nationally recognized insurance attorney. She
specializes in legislative and regulatory aspects of insurance, having
represented insurance regulators, insurance agents and brokers, insurance
companies and insurance consumers. While serving as Co-Counsel to Powell,
Goldstein, she will specifically be working on insurance regulatory issues,
especially risk retention and purchasing groups.
Ms. Kravetz is the author of The Insider's Guide to the Risk Retention Act
and co-author of The Captives Insurance Manual. An authority in the area of
risk retention and purchasing groups, she has written numerous articles on the
Risk Retention Act and has been a featured speaker at many seminars on this
subject. Kathryn Knudson, a partner in the Financial Institutions Group,

A native of Florida, Ms. Kravetz has lived and worked in the District of

Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Kravetz is a member of the American Bar
Association and the DC Bar, and is admitted to practice in the District of
Columbia.
