SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 29, -- Learning Tree International Inc. shares dropped
9% in Thursday's extended trading session after the company forecast lower
fourth-quarter revenue.
The Nasdaq-100 After Hours Indicator, which tracks the evening action of
the index's leading shares, was down 0.19 points to 1,655.17.
Learning Tree shares fell to $12.68 after the company forecast fiscal
fourth-quarter revenue of $36.5 million, down 2% compared with the year-ago
period. The educational services provider also expects to report a quarterly
loss from operations of $400,000 to $600,000.
Omni Energy Services Corp. shares jumped almost 18% in thin volume to
$3.85 after the company said it has agreed to acquire Preheat Inc. for $16
million in cash, 900,000 shares of stock and $4 million of buyer promissory
notes.
Carencro, La.-based Omni said that Preheat's rental fleet and specialized
environmental services are used by drilling contractors operating in the Gulf
of Mexico.
NetGuru Inc. surged 50% to $1.10 after the company said it has approved a
per-share cash distribution of 85 cents following the company's November sale
of certain assets. The distribution will be made Jan. 27 to shareholders of
record as of Jan. 17, according to the engineering-services company.
