Two New Board Members Elected at PennzEnergy Company: Henry R. Hamman and Robert A. Mosbacher, Jr.

HOUSTON, TX USA
    HOUSTON, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- PennzEnergy Company (NYSE: PZE) announced
today that two new members were added to its board of directors:  Henry R.
Hamman, president of Hamman Oil and Refining Company, and Robert A. Mosbacher,
Jr., president of Mosbacher Energy Company.

    Henry R. Hamman
    Henry R. Hamman, 61, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin
where he received a bachelor of science degree in geology in 1960 and master
of arts degree in geology-petroleum engineering in 1963.  In 1965, he became
president of Hamman Oil and Refining Company, an independent, family-owned
business involved in oil and gas exploration and production in the Louisiana
and Texas Gulf Coasts, South Texas, West Texas and Michigan.
    Mr. Hamman serves on the board of directors of the Houston Museum of
Natural Science, is a member of the George and Mary Josephine Hamman
Foundation Board, the All-American Wildcatters, the American Association of
Petroleum Geologists and the Society of Independent Earth Scientists.

    Robert A. Mosbacher, Jr.
    Robert A. Mosbacher, Jr., 47, received his bachelor of arts degree in 1973
from Georgetown University and a juris doctor in 1977 from Southern Methodist
University School of Law.  He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1977 and the
District of Columbia Bar in 1980.  He is president of Mosbacher Energy
Company, vice chairman of Mosbacher Power Group and a board member of Chase
Bank, Houston.
    Mr. Mosbacher has extensive experience in government and community
affairs.  He is chairman of the board of Methodist Hospital; chairman of the
board of the Houston Area Command, Salvation Army; and past chairman and
current board member of the Greater Houston Area Chapter of the American Red
Cross.  He is founder and co-chairman of Private Sector Initiatives, an
organization that focuses on employment training, neighborhood revitalization
and childcare.  He served as chairman of the board of the Texas Department of
Human Services, 1989-1991.
    Other members of the PennzEnergy board of directors are: James L. Pate,
Chairman; Stephen D. Chesebro'; Terry L. Savage; Brent Scowcroft; and Robert
B. Weaver.
