HOUSTON, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- James L. Pate, chairman and chief
executive officer of Pennzoil Company (NYSE: PZL), announced today that Clyde
W. Beahm has been promoted to executive vice president of consumer products,
lubricants and marketing of Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, effective upon
closing of Pennzoil's restructuring. Mr. Beahm will report to James J. Postl,
president and chief operating officer of Pennzoil-Quaker State.
Clyde Beahm joined Jiffy Lube International, Inc., Pennzoil Company's
franchise operation subsidiary, in 1989 as vice president marketing and
development. Most recently, he was group vice president of products marketing
with responsibility for overseeing all of Pennzoil's marketing and advertising
programs for its premium motor oils both domestically and internationally, as
well as its Gumout(R) and Snap(R) lines of consumer car care products.
Pennzoil-Quaker State and PennzEnergy (NYSE: PZE) will be formed after
Pennzoil spins off its marketing, manufacturing and fast oil change businesses
(Pennzoil Products Group) and merges Pennzoil Products Group with all of
Quaker State Corporation (NYSE: KSF). Pennzoil-Quaker State will be a leading
automotive consumer products company and will trade on the New York Stock
Exchange with the symbol PZL. PennzEnergy will be one of the largest domestic
independent exploration and production companies and will trade on the New
York Stock Exchange with the symbol PZE.
