Powerful Enterprise Knowledge Management Solution To Be Deployed

OTTAWA, Canada, Dec. 8 /PRNEWSWIRE/ - Fulcrum Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:
FULCF; TSE: FUL) today announced that Texaco Inc. has licensed software from
Fulcrum(R) as its platform for enterprise knowledge management applications.
Texaco will use Fulcrum Knowledge Network as the foundation of a best
practices application to be deployed to over 20,000 users in more than 150
locations worldwide.

Texaco's data currently resides in a number of repositories, including
Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, Texaco's intranet Web-server, Oracle
databases and file systems. In order to make effective business decisions,
Texaco employees must be able to access information, including critical legacy
data, located in these different information sources. The proprietary nature
of the sources, however, and their widely differing search capabilities, limit
users' ability to effectively access corporate knowledge. Texaco turned to
Fulcrum to address this issue and, after an initial pilot, they are now
rolling out a best practices application across the enterprise using Fulcrum
software as the knowledge management platform.
In an effort to provide employees with unique and effective tools to
gather and analyze information, Texaco is also deploying Fulcrum's Proactive
Agent(TM) Service. The Agent Service allows all users to create personal
search agents to monitor Knowledge Folders for new and updated information
that matches user-defined criteria. Users can define each agent's delivery
schedule and notification type ensuring the delivery of personalized and
timely information right to their desktops.
