PITTSBURGH, May 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Pitt-Des Moines, Inc. (AMEX: PDM) today
announced the promotion of Derek Halecky to the position of President of PDM
Service Centers, a division of Pitt-Des Moines, Inc., headquartered in
Stockton, California, effective June 1, 1997.
In this capacity, Derek will have full responsibility for all operations
of the Steel Service Centers and Culvert operations, including the recent
acquisition of General Steel located in Vancouver, Washington.
Derek succeeds Eugene (Hal) Halecky, who has been named Chairman of the
Steel Service Center Group. Hal will serve as chairman until his scheduled
retirement in January 1998.
